Just let go tonight.

Updates @ Fomula One.

First Free Practice
  • 1st - Felipe Massa
  • 2nd - Kimi Raikkonen
  • 3rd - Lewis Hamilton
  • 4th - Heikki Kovalainen

Not a bad start for the Reds. At least Kimi could still keep up with Massa despite having some electronical problems.

Ferrari - "Kimi as motivated as ever"

Q :Stefano, there have been stories that the Kimi Räikkönen we have seen in the last few months is not the Kimi that we know. He is maybe a little bit asleep and lacks a little bit of motivation. I am sure that is not true but could you comment on Kimi's motivation and speed?

A :
"I think Kimi's motivation is very high, he is the one who does not like this moment," said Domenicali. "In terms of motivation I am pretty sure he has a lot inside, and what we are doing as a team is supporting him, work very hard with him, and I am looking forward to seeing what you all are expecting."

Second Free Practice
  • 1st - Fernando Alonso
  • 2nd - Felipe Massa
  • 3rd - Heikki Kovalainen
  • 4th - Lewis Hamilton
  • 5th - Kimi Raikkonen
Raikkonen was first to get caught out - losing control on the approach to the unnamed Turn 9 and spinning his Ferrari backwards into the barriers. The impact not only removed the car's rear wing, but it dislodged a large amount of water from the tyres, which was spread onto the edge of the circuit - possibly along with fluids from the damaged Ferrari - as Raikkonen dragged his car back to the pits.

Kimi hoping for dry Saturday

Kimi Raikkonen - 5th: "When I went off the track at Turn 9, I clipped the kerb and the surface was a bit slippery there because of the rain. I ended up spinning and then hitting the barrier. Unfortunately, not only did the rear wing break, but the floor was also damaged and it could not be repaired in time. A shame as already earlier, when I had gone onto new tyres, it had begun raining and I lost a bit of time. Let's hope tomorrow morning there's no rain so that I can run more consistently in the dry. In the morning, apart from a few little electrical problems, the car wasn't bad. Tomorrow we will see what we can do and obviously the weather will be a key factor."

Not a good way to start of the weekend. A great morning start but a bad weekend start! c'mon Kimi. you can't afford to make anymore mistakes! Keep your car in good condition!

Big Daddy Kimi - to support son!

Kimi's parent's aren't exactly the best looking parents but they sure did good in having one hell of a cute son! haha!

A & Q with Heikki Kovalainen about countryman Kimi Raikkonen

Q. Has your profile in Finland gone up?

HEIKI KOVALAINEN: Maybe a little bit. Of course it was a popular headline on the Monday after I won the Grand Prix! But Kimi is still easily the most popular at the moment. He's done better results and he deserves that. If it stays this way it's fantastic - I'd much rather be quiet and in the background but I'd still like to do the same results as Kimi!

Q. You say be quiet, but you've said more today than Kimi says in a whole year. Your profile must be higher because of that?

HK: Kimi still has a higher profile, it's just that we are different characters. It's just the way we are and that's all I can say.
