Hi everybody!
I'm just sat here in my living room, having The Script filled up the room with their new album, No Sound without Silence - which is a good album might I add.
I'm sat here, after hours of replying to Facebook queries and personal message, which sometimes I hate doing on a weekend but its the only time I can dedicate a few undivided attention to answer them. They infuriate me sometimes and I really feel like saying what I really feel but that's not good customer service huh.
Anyways, after hours of that, I feel my brain juice flowing and I needed an outlet. So I came to my blog.
Again, Hi guys :D
The last I left you with was 2nd june 2012. That was 3 years ago! Let me recap everything that happened in the last 3 years in less than 1,000 words.
Let's get started..
Well I graduated university, I "interned" for a little while with a PR firm, mostly dealing with investment relations. It was quite an experience, I got to be in a room with very important business people and it was sometimes very intimidating. It's also a very stressful job to have, with high expectation from clients. When they want some things, it is usually within a day, thus it will be very busy.
We held most of the events in hotel which was an upside because I absolutely love hotels! But i didn't particularly enjoy the early morning calls and late midnight oil.
In the mist of that internship, I was still in university. The burden got heavy and I couldn't cope with both demanding side. Therefore I quit my internship shortly after.
I loved it though, I got to express myself with press release and made friends with a few media person and partake in a few events.
After that short period of my working life, I dove back into university and absolutely enjoyed my time with the bunch of monkey friends I had there. We made the most out of our last semester, going on road trips and adventures.
Time flew by and I was taking my last examination paper, ever!
I then flew to Perth for a few weeks, almost a month. Just enjoying life. Whilst there, I started looking for jobs, creating a resume using Sam's template and opening an account with Jobstreet.
I remember only applying for 2 jobs - Nuffnang and L'OCCITANE.
I wasn't too familiar with L'OCCITANE back then but I remembered it once when Lauren went in. - I got a call from them 3 days after and went in for my interview, and I remember waiting for an hour and a half for Sarah, my now manager to interview me.
To be frank, I didn't actually want the job at first, thinking I would be more suited at Nuffnang. But that idea shifted rather quickly after my interview with Nuffnang. I knew I wouldn't last a month after that, so I cancelled my second interview with them after L'OCCITANE gave me a call back 3 days later.
It was a rather short process of finding a job. I was lucky.
So, i started with L'OCCITANE 16th October 2013 and there I still am. I absolutely love my job but sometimes the pressure gets to me. However, all that stress outweighs the friendship I made, the bond I have with my colleagues and the more than comfortable working environment.
I can't see myself anywhere else for my first job, and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon, maybe.
So that's my 3 years roll into a blogpost. I have been super busy with work, getting use to work as my present and future, getting stuck in morning and evening jam, having a 9-6 working hour from Monday to Friday.
I am an adult now. That's hard to believe especially from where I left off from my last post.
An introductory post will be needed for the new faces in my life. But I think that will be best for my next post. A motivational incentive for my next post. Hopefully it won't take another 3 years.
Till then, peace out.
Jeanette xx
